What is your role at Xtravirt?

I’m responsible for managing and delivering Xtravirt’s Technical Pre-Sales effort for our customers and partners, providing scoping and support services to aid the delivery of successful projects as well as developing our partner capabilities.

What attracted you to Xtravirt?

The reputation and the ‘leading-edge’ technology areas were the first attraction really. It wasn’t long before I realised the commitment to excellence in all areas which is ultimately underpinned by each person working here.

What makes Xtravirt great?

The drive to deliver excellence in each and every project. This drive is in the people, from the highly skilled, revered and constantly developing consultants to the all the other supporting business teams and functions. There is a real team feel and the ethos of being able to achieve more than should be possible. Getting more from less and punching above the weight are things that spring to mind.

What industries would you say you know well?

Leisure, retail and hospitality.

Functional or technical skills

Software defined technologies particularly in End User Compute, I was a Citrix Consultant for a number of years. General IT infrastructure, particularly Microsoft and VMware server virtualization, understanding technical procedure and process as well as the ‘building’ and maintenance of a solution. ITIL methodology and helpdesk processes. PCI and security compliance. Customer service.

What makes a great Technical Pre-Sales Consultant

Having a good knowledge and understanding of the technology coupled with a commercial eye and a ‘can do’ and flexible attitude. Willing to go the extra mile to meet project deadlines and milestones.

What’s your favourite part of your job?

I still get excited by the technology, so for me working with the latest industry leading technologies is great. Also learning from the consulting practice and the feeling of ‘winning’ and delivering successful projects.
