Due to strong growth, we are expanding our sales team and looking for experienced Technical Account Managers (TAM). Working alongside several other TAMs and reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for a portfolio of customers, ensuring they receive first class service delivery, whilst creating new revenue streams for Xtravirt.

The role will suit someone with a real understanding of digital transformation and the associated technologies. They will have a genuine belief in a customer first approach to business. The role allows for a significant degree of autonomy and provides considerable opportunity to work with the world’s leading technology vendors, re-sellers and enterprise level customers.

The Role

Working across Xtravirt’s solution portfolio,  the Technical Account Manager will:

Be the key point of contact within Xtravirt for the customer, acting as their advocate and ensuring they receive the best possible advice and service from our consultancy business.

  • Pre-Sales: Pivotal to winning sales, you will analyse a customer’s business and technical requirements and manage the development of solutions to meet those needs. You will leverage expertise from across the business to develop customized offerings for customers where required.  You will clearly demonstrate/articulate technical services to customers, explaining how proposed solutions meet their needs.
  • After-Sales: Identify the services and support customers will need to maximize the value of their IT investment. Ensure the project is managed in a way that minimizes disruption for customers. Identify skills/knowledge gaps and arrange for the training of customers’ users.
  • Ongoing support: Manage the ongoing support to customers ensuring that they continue to use solutions effectively and maximize efficiencies in the long term. Monitor support requests and hold regular review sessions to ensure the early identification and remediation of issues. Continue to add value to the client, work closely with them help identify and solve business challenges.  Advise customers on new solutions, services or upgrades that may be suitable for their business.

 

Responsibilities

As a Technical Account Manager, you play a significant role in upholding the reputation of Xtravirt and ensuring we deliver excellence to our customers.

  • Proactively manage relationships delivering against customer expectations and contractual obligations
  • Proactively report on any potential risks / issues that may impact service delivery or customer satisfaction
  • Manage any customer escalation that may arise
  • Ensure all contract-related systems and documentation required, either contractually or as part of a programme, are up to date and accurate
  • Monitor and report revenue forecast and margin estimates and achievements for each of your designated accounts
  • Operate in line with Xtravirt’s business processes and procedures
  • Work in collaboration with Pre-Sales, other TAMs and Marketing to identify and develop innovative ways of delivering service excellence to customers

 

Key Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science is preferred for this position.
  • Previous experience in a technical sales and/or service delivery and/or project management role an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware and associated solutions a distinct advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships and earn the trust and respect of your customers and colleagues
  • Direct experience of working on hybrid cloud projects, with hands on experience of large scale deployments preferred
  • Based in South-East England and able to commute to our Surrey office
