Week 1
  • Introduction workshops for VMC on AWS components and services with use case validation and prerequisites discussions
  • Information gathering and planning sessions covering existing customer environment and operational processes
  • Design workshops and architectural design creation
  • VMC and AWS account creation and subscription acquisition
Week 2
  • SDDC single host starter deployment based on Cloud Foundation stack, provision additional connection options such as Direct Connect
  • Configure networking including IP subnets, VPNs, firewall rules, logical management and compute networks
  • Extend existing vCenter® with VMC on AWS Cloud SDDC via Cloud Gateway / Hybrid linked mode
  • Validate deployment with connection testing and issue remediation
Week 3
  • Integrate with identify source(s) such as Active Directory
  • Configure VMC on AWS portal, SDDC roles and permissions
  • Define VMC on AWS storage and configure VMware vSAN™ policies
  • Content onboarding of virtual machine template, ISO’s and scripts
Week 4
  • Deploy cloud native virtual machines in VMC on AWS SDDC
  • Transition a subset of on premise vSphere virtual machines to VMC on AWS via Hybrid Cloud Extension (HCX), VMware vSphere vMotion® and cold migrations
  • Integrate VMware vRealize® SDDC components and native AWS product features
  • Scale up starter deployment to a 4 node SDDC VMC on AWS Cluster
